What kind of tool is Shippp?
A product design tool for the AI era. You design your product's screens, flows and UI — with the design system behind it — and that design becomes the single source of truth your team, your AI tools and the generated code all work from. You never leave the canvas to write code — it stays a designer's canvas.
What is Shippp an alternative to?

Do I need to know how to code?
No. You design with the same concepts as other product design tools — frames, smart layout, components, styles. Shippp takes care of turning them into code. Knowing that smart layout works like flexbox helps, but it isn't required.
Can Shippp turn designs into production-ready React code?
Yes. Shippp exports a runnable Next.js project, single screens or a design-system package, styled with Chakra UI v3 or Tailwind CSS with Base UI or Radix. Tokens, text styles and components carry over as theme values and typed components. See Export code.
Does Shippp generate Storybook stories?
Yes. Every Next.js project export includes a configured Storybook with generated stories for each component — default, every variant, compound variants, hover / focus / disabled states, breakpoints and swaps. The stories render the exact exported components inside your theme. See Storybook.
Does Shippp work with Claude, Cursor and other AI tools?
Yes. Shippp is a remote MCP server: Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, Replit and other MCP clients can read your design system, generate code and — with your approval — edit designs. No API key is needed. See MCP.
How much does Shippp cost?
Free is €0 with one editor, 5 code exports per month and 150 MCP units per week. Plus is €19 and Pro €49 per editor seat per month (less with annual billing). Viewers are free on every plan. See Plans & usage.
Can I import my Figma files?
Not yet. Figma import is being prepared but isn't available to users today. You can paste SVGs and images from any tool, and move design systems between Shippp files with Export DS and Import DS.
Which browsers are supported?
Recent desktop versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox. Using fonts installed on your computer needs Chrome or Edge.
Is my work saved if I lose my connection?
Yes. Shippp keeps saving locally while you are offline and syncs when you reconnect. Named versions let you go back to any milestone.
Who can see my files?
Only the people you share them with. Private folders stay private; workspace folders are visible to workspace members. Preview links are public only if you publish one.
Do viewers need a paid seat?
No. Viewers are free on every plan. They can view and comment, but can't edit, export code or use MCP. See Plans & usage.
Will the code look like my design?
Yes — the live preview uses the same renderer as the export. Differences almost always come from sizing: check that layers use Fill or Hug where they should adapt.
Is it safe to let an AI client edit my file?
Access is limited to the workspace and level you approve. Every AI edit is validated, attributed and revertible, and high-impact actions need your explicit approval. You can switch a client to Read only or disconnect it any time. See Access & permissions.
