Changelog

What's new in Shippp — new features, improvements and fixes, as they ship.

Release notes for Shippp — new features, improvements and notable fixes across the editor, the design system, collaboration, the dashboard, MCP and code export. The “What's new” item in the app's account menu brings you here.

Multiplayer

  • Rejoining a shared file after a network drop is smoother.
  • The editor reconnects by itself when you come back online, return to the tab or wake your computer.

Text

  • Styling part of a text from the panel, like underline, changes only the selected part.

Canvas navigation

  • Panning around the canvas is smoother.
  • The canvas scrolls by itself when you drag a section or screen to its edge.

Large edits

  • Duplicating a large section is noticeably faster.

Components and tokens

  • Hiding a layer in one variant or breakpoint affects only that one.
  • Deleting a token that is still in use asks you first.

Component variants

  • The variant values in the inspector always match the canvas.

Syncing design to code

  • An AI agent can only link a code repository after you approve it.
  • When you have edited the code by hand, a sync lets you decide what happens to your edits.

Version history

  • Save Version tells you when your version is saved.
  • Restoring an old version first saves your current one, so you can always go back.

AI tool connections

  • Connected AI tools show clear statuses, with a Reconnect option.
  • New setup guides for Codex, Replit and any HTTP-based client.
  • Agents can ask what changed since their last sync and download the images and fonts your design uses.

Code export

  • Line breaks in text, design tokens and fill or hug sizing in hover and responsive styles export to code.

Getting started

  • New accounts start with a ready-made Getting Started file in their workspace.

Saving

  • Edits made offline are merged in when you reconnect.
  • The save status in the editor is clearer.

Images

  • Very large images appear almost instantly when you drop them in, and stay sharp when you zoom.
  • Pasting an image onto an element adds it as a new fill on top of the existing ones.

Arranging and aligning

  • With several layers selected, the right-click menu can reorder, lock, hide or delete them all.
  • Align and flip work on layers in different frames and under rotated parents.

Selecting and moving

  • Shift-click adds or removes a container from the selection, on the canvas or in the Layers panel.
  • Moving a layer into another parent keeps it where it was on screen.

Selection colors

  • The panel on the right lists every color in your selection.
  • Change a color there and it changes everywhere in the selection.

Responsive copy and paste

  • Copy a block from one breakpoint and paste it into another section. Its versions on the other breakpoints come with it.

Selecting and moving

  • Locked layers no longer block what is behind them.
  • Hold Shift while dragging to keep a layer on one axis.
  • Dragging in large grids is smoother.

Feedback

  • Send us feedback from the editor, next to the canvas tabs.

Images

  • Files with large images open faster.
  • Panning and zooming stay smooth with many images on the canvas.

Text

  • Text with more than one color shows as mixed in the Fill row.
  • Opening and closing a text without changes no longer alters it.

Faster images

  • Images now load at the resolution the current zoom needs, so files with many large images open and scroll faster.
  • Screenshots and previews always use the best image quality, whatever zoom you are at.
  • Images you place keep their real size on high-density screens.

Canvas precision

  • Hold Option to see distances while you scrub a value in the inspector.
  • Rotated layers align and snap correctly.
  • Smart guides while dragging only show targets on the same level.

Files and export

  • Move a file to another project straight from the editor.
  • Code export supports text direction, truncated text and list-style text.

Number fields

  • All number fields in the inspector work the same way, with typed units, precision limits and arrow-key previews.
  • A single color field is used everywhere you set a color value.

Locked layers

  • Locked layers can't be moved by dragging, nudging or a marquee selection.
  • Right-click the canvas and use "Select layer" to pick a locked layer.

Sharing and publishing

  • Choose which screens a share link or published preview includes.
  • Change the settings of a live link without pressing Apply.
  • You can delete any variant value, including the first one.

AI agents

  • Narrow an agent's access straight away, or widen it with a new approval.
  • Install link for Replit in the MCP connect options.

Grid layout

  • The grid view is redesigned, with icon fields for columns and rows and a gap control.
  • A new Grid tracks card lets you select, reorder and delete tracks, including implicit ones.
  • The canvas shows grid cells while you edit a grid.

Component studio

  • The studio panel shows the component's real name; double-click it to rename.
  • Select and delete properties right in the panel, and swap instances from a two-column picker.

MCP and tokens

  • A new MCP popover lists connected agents with their status and access level.
  • Clicking a color swatch in Foundations opens the same token editor as the row.

Selection and dragging

  • A marquee selection picks up rotated layers by their real outline.
  • Flipping several layers at once flips each one in place.
  • Aspect ratio lock follows the frame you are editing.

AI agents

  • The Shippp MCP package can sync designs straight into your repository.
  • Agents can look up the exact format of a single command when they need it.
  • Agents can copy a whole layer tree to a new place in one step, and undo their own changes.

Panels

  • Cards open and close more predictably, with a clear header strip.
  • Text options are redesigned, with more detail for caps and number styles.
  • The inspector remembers your scroll position for each layer type.

Copy and paste

  • Pasted layers land right after the selected layer.

Connected workspaces

  • Connect a workspace to a project and work with guests from another team.
  • A new Connected tab shows guest access, which you can manage from either side.
  • Pro workspaces can limit sharing to their own email domain.

  • Share links can have a password and an expiry date, and can cover a whole project.
  • Viewers can ask for edit access, and people can be invited to whole projects.

Trash and archive

  • Deleted projects and workspaces stay in the trash for 30 days, ready to restore.
  • Members can be archived and reactivated later.

  • Each fill and shadow layer can now be set separately for each variant.

Component Studio

  • The Studio frame now sizes itself to fit the instances inside it.

  • Dragging now snaps layers to whole pixels.
  • Icons in the Layers panel show each container's actual layout direction.
  • Empty freeform containers can be switched to smart layout in one step.

Responsive variants

  • Editing content in one breakpoint cell changes only that cell.
  • When you detach an instance, each screen keeps the look it had before.

Component Studio

  • Clip content now works inside the Component Studio.

  • The inspector shows the same controls for variant cells as it does for regular layers.

Smart layout

  • The inspector's layout and direction icons now work on multiple selected layers at once.
  • Wrapping layers that fill their parent now creates a wrapper that also fills its parent and keeps the parent's gap.
  • Wrap is now offered only on horizontal layouts.

Sizing and alignment

  • Screen width is now always fixed, while screen height can still hug its content.
  • Hug children keep their size instead of shrinking.
  • Align now only lines layers up and doesn't change their size.

Rotation

  • Rotated layers keep their rotation when you move them into another container.

Auto layout conversion

  • Converting to auto layout works out alignment on both axes, even when layers are slightly out of line.
  • When you switch a container to hug, its fill children stay at their current size.
  • Wrapping a single layer no longer adds extra padding.

Responsive design

  • New breakpoints inherit hug sizing from the screen they're based on.
  • Text styles can now be set differently on each screen.
  • Layers anchored to the center stay in place when you move them into a freeform container.

Responsive screens

  • Breakpoint screens are now built from a single main design, which keeps every screen in sync.
  • Export, preview and AI tools all work with the new screen setup.

Editing

  • Text style actions now apply to everything you have selected.
  • Replacing a color across your selection also updates hover and other interaction states.

Responsive screens

  • You can now resize the root of a component instance separately on each screen.
  • Hiding a layer inside a component on the main screen now hides it on every other screen as well.
  • Older files with linked sections update to the latest screen format automatically when you open them.

Override indicators

  • When a value is changed both on a screen and on a component instance, each change now gets its own dot in the panel.
  • Resetting an instance override now applies on every screen.
  • Resetting a layer to its breakpoint defaults also clears changes made to its hover and other states.

Screens and breakpoints

  • When you drag a layer onto a screen or off it, the editor switches to that screen's breakpoint right away.
  • Deleting a layer on a secondary screen now only hides it on that screen.
  • You can now give elements a different visual order on each screen, and the page structure stays the same for screen readers.

Components

  • Elements you copy from the Component Studio now paste with all of their styles.
  • A detached component instance keeps the layer order it showed before.

Live preview

  • The preview looks exactly like the canvas at every breakpoint and in both light and dark mode.
  • Hover and focus states work in the preview, and so do animations.

Code export

  • Exported code is cleaner because it leaves out variant settings that match the default.
  • Element order in exported code now matches what you see on the canvas.

Component Studio

  • You can now reorder elements separately in each variant.
  • The Layers panel and the inspector now show the same hidden state and values as the canvas.
